Rewards for Writing

So what are your rewards for meeting a writing challenge?

When I win NaNoWriMo with 50,000 words at the end of November, I'm going to break open my Gears of War 2 game. I was at the midnight sale, but I was writing.

I buckled down yesterday and wrote 3,601 words surpassing the NaNo goal of 28,339 words by 170 words. It's been a long time since I've hit a NaNo goal. My reward was to go to a free sneak preview of Twilight. Impressive movie. Now I'll have to pull the Twilight Saga books out of my TBR and read them.

When I broke 20,000 words on Nov. 13, I was ecstatic because I've been so behind when I got headaches from the days of rainy weathers. I celebrated on Saturday by watching Quantum of Solace.

When I finish Sweating with Sven, I'll have the satisfaction that I've continuously written for one of the longest periods of time.

Before NaNoWriMo, I gave myself an incentive. I bought a blue Ipod Nano. Now I can take my music everywhere and it eliminates distractions of turning on a CD player or the computer.

I'm currently grooving to the soundtracks of Kill Bill, The Best of James Bond with the original singers, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

Congrats on hitting your goal! :::drools::: I want a blue iPod Nano. Other people have talked about rewards for writing. I don't really have one but the satisfaction I am closer to my goal. Corny, but true.

Congrats! I hit over 33000 today, writing 2000 words of just filler ... people having conversations which don't advance the plot but were remarkable easy to write. I figure it helps to clarify who these people are.

I wrote myself into a corner, though. I now have to figure out a full Faerie Tale, in story form, as part of the novel. I have the outline and I was just going to summarize it but Lady Elisabeth Lake commanded our hero to read the ancient book to her and the others in the evening ... and *I'm* too afraid of that woman to cross her (one character said that if she had fought Bruce Lee in his prime, he'd have bet on the Lady). What Elisabeth wants, Elisabeth gets. Now, where did I put that copy of The Faerie Queen? *grin*
